“Invisible Scene” is a program launched by Klub Azimut in Šibenik and the association Kolektiv 4B, with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Media, and has been running since May 2021.

“Invisible Scene” promotes under-recognized alternative musicians from Croatia and the region. The video interviews were mostly recorded between their soundchecks and concerts at Azimut. The program is hosted by music journalist Marko Podrug, with media support provided by Ravno do dna.

To be honest, this newly launched program did not mark a shift in Azimut’s programming philosophy. Since its very beginnings, alternative, indie, underground, and similar bands have always had a safe home at the club. During the pandemic, “Invisible Scene” was meant to elevate that story to a higher level.

The concept of the program evolved alongside changing epidemiological measures. Concerts allowed / not allowed, entry to the club permitted / prohibited, COVID certificates, guest limits based on square footage, square meters per person, COVID marshals…

In the end, despite all challenges, Azimut successfully held most of the announced concerts within the “Invisible Scene” program, and more were planned before the end of the year.

“Invisible Scene” therefore brings live concerts to the Šibenik audience and video interviews to everyone else, conducted by Marko Podrug, deputy editor of this portal.

The series was launched by Denis Katanec, whose band Klinika was the first to perform in Azimut’s concert hall after 19 months of forced pause. Klinika promoted “Jada jada,” widely considered one of the best albums of the previous year.

The interview that follows was recorded one hour before the performance…
