You are warmly invited to the opening of the exhibition I Breathe by Lana Đurđek at the Azimut Club Gallery.
A story about water and the slowing of body and mind, set within the space of Šibenik’s medieval wells.
At the Gallery of the independent cultural center Azimut in Šibenik, from Wednesday, April 22 at 8 PM, you can visit the exhibition I Breathe by artist Lana Đurđek. The exhibition is organized by the Kolektiv 4B association as part of the Flora Dalmatica festival.
Through nine photographs and six short textual forms, the artist returns to the experience of being in and around water—a space where the body naturally slows down and focus shifts inward. At the core of the work is the concept of brumation, a state of physiological slowing, which Đurđek uses as a framework for reflecting on withdrawal, contemplation, and presence. Not as an escape, but as a way of sensing things more precisely: through breath, the body, and a relationship with space.
Set within a medieval Šibenik cistern and as part of the Flora Dalmatica festival, the exhibition I Breathe gains an additional dimension. Photographs and texts connect with the theme and the space to create a unified experience. The exhibition will particularly appeal to audiences seeking a quieter, more focused experience and space for personal interpretation. It is intended for anyone willing to pause and connect their own experience with what they see and read.

The Flora Dalmatica festival presents programs that explore the relationship between humans and nature through a local context and contemporary artistic practices. It is organized by a platform that brings together local government, public and cultural institutions, and civil society organizations. The festival is inspired by Šibenik-born Roberto Visiani, one of the pioneers of botany in Europe, after whose most famous work it is named.
