Literary evening with Melida Travančić

On Wednesday, May 20 at 6 PM, Klub Azimut will host a literary evening with Melida Travančić, a Bosnian poet, fiction writer, essayist, and literary critic, organized by our reading clubs.
Melida Travančić holds a PhD in Humanities in the field of literature and is the author of numerous acclaimed literary and academic works. She has published five poetry collections, including Veo nad rijekom C (A Veil Over the River C) and Moja majka hrani mrtvog psa (My Mother Feeds a Dead Dog), as well as the prose works Smrt u ogledalu (Death in the Mirror) and the award-winning novel Ulaz u prazninu (Entrance into Emptiness), which was translated into German and published in Germany and Sweden.
She is the recipient of several literary awards, including the “Mak Dizdar,” “Anka Topić,” and the international “Ismet Rebronja” award. Alongside her creative writing, she is actively engaged in literary criticism and academic research focused on contemporary literature.
During the event, the conversation will explore her literary work, poetry, prose, and the contemporary regional literary scene. Visitors will also have the opportunity to take part in the discussion and meet an author whose works have been translated into several languages.
Melida Travančić is currently staying in Šibenik as part of the Culture Moves Europe literary residency program, where she will remain until mid-May.
