JELENA PETOŠEVIĆ – Nevidljiva scena

Jelena Petošević, better known by her stage name Lady Jelena, quickly captured the attention of hundreds of thousands of listeners and followers on YouTube with her distinctive music style. Her songs “Nikola” and “Watermelon Love” have become part of the everyday soundtrack for many fans of infectious melodies and provocative, slightly kinky lyrics. Growing up in Belgium and later studying in London helped shape her recognizable artistic expression — a fusion of Balkan passion and Western culture that encourages freedom of expression.
She entered the world of music quite spontaneously, but stayed because she realized how powerful words, voice, and melody can be — capable of making people laugh, feel emotional, excited, or even challenged. Audiences can therefore expect outstanding music, strong emotions, and a striking artistic performance.
“The atmosphere here is far beyond what I expected. I had never been to Kikinda before and didn’t even know a place like this existed. I absolutely love clay, and I’d really like to come here sometime and play around with it a little, haha! I think that would be such a fun idea. The venue completely amazed me — every corner feels different, and the garden is beautiful. I especially love the place where we perform because you can see the forest through the light in the background. After the song ‘Nikola,’ which came out ten years ago, I’m now working on a new album that should be released in September. I never thought that would happen, but I’m really enjoying creating new music.”
“Nevidljiva scena” (The Invisible Scene) is a programme launched by the Azimut Club from Šibenik and the Kolektiv 4B association, with the support of the Croatian Ministry of Culture and Media, and has been running since May 2021. The aim of “The Invisible Scene” is to promote lesser-known Croatian alternative musicians, while the video interviews are mostly recorded between soundchecks and concerts at Azimut. The interviews are hosted by music journalist Marko Podrug.
