MDF Workshop: Build Your Studio – Record Your Own Show

June 22 – June 24
10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
This workshop introduces students to contemporary forms of online content production and digital expression — online shows, podcasts, and live streaming.
The first part of the workshop focuses on theory, content development, concept creation, and workflow organization for successful and sustainable content production. Participants will then become familiar with the technology involved — cameras, microphones, lighting, audio and video mixers, computers, and recording or streaming tools.
The workshop uses professional yet simple and relatively affordable equipment, while also demonstrating how expensive gear can often be avoided by creatively using devices and tools that most people already have at home.
After the introduction to the equipment, participants will assemble and set up a functional studio themselves under the guidance of the workshop mentor. They will also design the opening and closing graphics for their show.
In the final stage of the workshop, participants will be assigned roles according to their interests and preferences — camera operator, sound engineer, lighting technician, director, host, or studio guest — and will independently produce a short-format show lasting 5–10 minutes.
