April 8 @ 10:00 - 12:00

The fifth edition of the Flora Dalmatica Nature Festival, dedicated to the renowned Šibenik-born botanist Roberto Visiani, will be officially presented on April 8, 2026, at Azimut Club in Šibenik. The festival takes place throughout April, marking the 226th anniversary of Visiani’s birth, with a focus on educating the public about the importance of native flora and nature conservation.

Key information and program highlights of the 5th Flora Dalmatica (2026):

Theme:
This year’s festival is dedicated to Posidonia (Posidonia oceanica), an endemic seagrass species often referred to as the “lungs of the Mediterranean,” highlighting the importance of protecting marine ecosystems.

Program:
More than 20 different activities are planned, including exhibitions, lectures, educational workshops, and themed walks. The program takes place across the Šibenik-Knin County (Šibenik, Vodice, Zaton).

New addition:
For the first time, part of the festival program will also be held in Zadar.

Green Tour:
The Tourist Guides Association “Mihovil” traditionally organizes the “Green Tour”, focusing on botanical heritage and Visiani’s legacy.

Exhibitions and workshops:
Local creatives and institutions are actively involved, with a strong emphasis on connecting art, history, and botany.

The Flora Dalmatica Festival is inspired by the work of Roberto Visiani, author of the seminal work Flora Dalmatica, and aims to promote the botanical heritage of Dalmatia, especially in the city of Šibenik.
